About:
Turtles are reptiles of the order Testudines, characterised by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs that acts as a shield.

Appearance:
Are ectotherms—varying their internal temperature according to the ambient environment, commonly called cold-blooded. However, leatherback sea turtle have noticeably higher body temperature than surrounding water because of their high metabolic rate.

Habitat:
They breathe air and do not lay eggs underwater, although many species live in or around water. The largest turtles are aquatic.

The gharial, sometimes called the Indian gavial or gavial, is one of two surviving members of the family Gavialidae, a long-established group of crocodile-like reptiles with long, narrow jaws. It is one of the three crocodilians found in India.

Appearance:
Elongated, narrow snout

Habitat:
Riverine—most adapted to the calmer areas in the deep fast moving rivers.

tuatara

About:
The tuatara is a reptile endemic to New Zealand which, though it resembles most lizards, is actually part of a distinct lineage, order Sphenodontia.The two species of tuatara are the only surviving members of its order, which flourished around 200 million years ago.

Appearance:
Greenish brown, and measure up to 80 cm (31 in) from head to tail-tip with a spiny crest along the back, especially pronounced in males.

Habitat:
Adult tuatara are terrestrial and nocturnal reptiles, though they will often bask in the sun to warm their bodies. Hatchlings hide under logs and stones, and are diurnal, likely because adults are cannibalistic.
